Ciao! Benevento a Wanderlust and Pasta aka welcome to Wanderlust and Pasta.
I am Amber Bourke, an Aussie expat, a sometimes gym junkie, all time food lover and occasional explorer. Obviously the first being a must when one lives in Italy, so I can continue to do the second without consequence. It seems I have zero self-control.
I am currently living, breathing and eating all things Italian in Padova; a beautiful and charming city in northern Italy, about half an hour from Venice. Yep, you read that right! I literally live half an hour from Venice and yes, I still pinch myself every time I walk out of Venezia Santa Lucia station. Pretty sure it has the best train station views in the world but hey I might be biased.
Having lived away from home now for several years, I thought it was about time I finally start a travel blog. I often get many questions and queries from family and friends about my life in Italy, my travels, why I move around a lot and the best places to visit in Italy so it seemed only fitting I compile all my adventures and tips in one spot.
However, unlike most travel blogs that I follow I want to keep Wanderlust and Pasta real. Yes I live in Italy, yes it seems like I live the life and yes I do get to travel quite often but trust me I am not always on holiday and when I am they are not that of luxury and elegance, and that’s exactly what my blog is about.
Wanderlust and Pasta is a travel blog for the thrifty and frugal, both in terms of money and time. My posts will be aimed at offering tips on how best to budget, make the most of your travels and plan your dream holiday. Obviously, given the fact that I live in Italy, a lot of my posts will be centred around the boot shaped country, its sights and cities and what living in Italy is actually like.
